Rare Christmas Day with Full Moon on 25 Dec 2015 - Next in Year 2034



RARE CHRISTMAS WITH FULL MOON ON 25 DEC: This year  25 December is special because a Full Moon can be spotted by people on Christmas Day. This is the first time since 1977 that a full Moon has fallen on 25 December and the next time it occurs is 2034.  That is after 37 years we have Full Moon visible on Christmas Day. Whereas next such opportunity to observe full moon on Christmas Day will come only after 19 years.
 
Planetary Society, India is pleased to wish people a Happy Milad-un-Nabi (24 Dec 2015)  and Happy Merry Christmas (on 25 December, 2015). While thanking year 2015 for providing historic space science/celestial events. We wish people a Happy Prosperous New year 2016 with bouquet full of celestial events waiting in store to enthrall people.

Christmas is celebrated across the world on 25 December every year. However if one observes the Full Moon phase data previous 100 years (of from Year 1900 to Year 2000) and data for next 100 years (from year 2001 to Year 2100). It would be interesting to know on very few occasions people across the world had opportunity to see full moon the Christmas Day.

Request/Appeal: Planetary Society India requests (like for any other celestial event) people across various faiths and region to utilize this celestial coincidence opportunity to look up to Skies and observe Moon.
